Venice Carnival Sensation 2011


Third edition of the Venice Carnival in its new format, dedicated to the senses; traditional mix of fun, shows and culture. The Carnival of Venice, if not the most impressive, it is surely best known for holding the charm and mystery that continues to hold even now, 900 years have elapsed from the first document that refers to this historic celebration. Who has never heard of? You have memories of the festivities of the Carnival since 1094, under Doge Vitale Falier, in a document that speaks of public entertainment in the days preceding Lent. The official document declaring the Carnival is a public holiday in 1296 when the Senate declared public holiday on the last day of Lent. In Venice, the Carnival fever never ceases during the year. A subtle euphoria creeps in between the streets of the most beautiful city in the world and grows imperceptibly, as naturally salt water, blurs the outlines of things, it suggests the mysteries and atmosphere of times gone by. Once the Carnival of Venice allowed to leave those jobs to devote himself entirely to entertainment. people came to watch the jugglers, the acrobats, animals, dancing, acrobats, trumpets, fifes and drums were almost consumed by custom, street vendors were selling dried fruit, chestnuts, and fritole (pancakes) and desserts of all kinds. Venice became the top European school of pleasure and play, the mask and irresponsibility. Venice became the great virtuoso of metamorphosis and the carnival was and still is) his exploits. The Carnival of today is a magnificent "happening" that draws crowds of onlookers from around the world with thousands of festival masks and a bright and peaceful occupation of the Lagoon. Among the narrow streets of the wonderful city for ten days, there is a continuous representation of theatrical fun and playfulness, all in masks to celebrate the charm of a world of dancing, jokes, galas exclusive and romantic encounters

Until March 20 in Venice, at Palazzo Grimani, a short walk from Piazza San Marco, an exhibition of Bosch, the Dutch painter who is known for its fantastic works that go back to religion and morals of the time. The exhibited works are the Vision of the Bejond (1500-1503), the Triptych of Saint Liberata (1505) and the Triptych of the Hermits (1510).
A real good occasion to visit Venice and stay just few steps from the famous Saint Mark’s Square, La Fenice Theatre and the various boutiques of world famous brands.

The Palazzo Ducale is a symbol of Venice, seat of the Doge and the government and a representative of high Venetian culture. Once again this year, Venice is hosting the non-competitive run "Su e Zo per i Ponti," now in its 33rd edition. The event is intended for everyone, who wish to spend a day under the banner of sports, friendship and solidarity, with 3 different possibilites of routes, through the unique scenery of Venice.
