On October 28th, over 30 students from the local SHPE, SWE, and NSBE college attended the Morgan Stanley sponsored resume and interview workshop. The event was held at the Morgan Stanley headquarters building in midtown New York. The event was purposely organized prior to the SHPE Conference, in order to give our SHPE students a chance to shine in front of recruiters, with polished resumes and the necessary interview skills to help them achieve an internship or full time position.
The event consisted of two parts, and was approximately two hours in length. The first half of the event was an interactive resume writing workshop, focusing on the "do‘s and don‘ts" of resume writing. The second half of the event targeted interview skills. Students were broken into groups of two, and were given a list of common and open ended interview questions. Students also had an opportunity to interact and personally meet the Morgan Stanley Diversity Recruitment Manager, receive immediate feedback, and submit their resume as well.
