Andy Samberg in Googie Rene's Slightly Damaged Prom Wear Barn

Googie Rene's Slightly Damaged Prom Wear Barn

Great deals on formal wear that's been around the block.

This is Kenan's third go at this character. Aren't all Kenan's characters the same?

Andy does a great job here. Did you like it?

Enjoy!

Andy Samberg in Bedelia (Sleepover) SNL skit

Bedelia (Bedilia) loves her mom, a lot.

I never noticed this before, but Nasim Pedrad picked her Bedelia mom as Tina Fey and dad as Alec Baldwin. I wonder if she did that to pitch this skit whenever Tina or Alec are on (which is a lot).

However, this is getting old and stale. She loves her parents instead of her friends. Got it. We don't really need more of these, do we?

Andy supports well as a high school guy. Taran's nerd actually steals the show (and makes me want to see more of him).

Bedelia's previous (and second) appearance was with Alec Baldwin as her dad (so this week's one is the third time for the skit). As you'll see, it ends the same as the last one, but Taran's role (probably a different character) was played by Bill Hader:

Daddy's little girl needs to spend more time with her peers. (This last one with Alec Baldwin was a little funnier.)

Andy plays the same role in this one too. Check out Andy's wet hair!

My bottom line is that I think Nasim Pedrad needs to step up her writing game before pitching another one of these Bedelia skits.

Examples of stepping up her writing game:

- She goes on a date (restaurant or dance) with Taran's character and thoroughly annoy all their friends at the table.

- Mom (and/or dad) chaperone a school dance that Bedelia's at, get drunk, and actually start embarrassing Bedelia.

- Mom and dad (together) try to purposefully embarrass Bedelia to get her to leave them alone. It doesn't work, but then it ends up working at the end in a strange way.

- Bedelia's friends give her a makeover (including getting her to change what she says), and she cracks.

- The jock (Andy Samberg) makes fun of her but somehow starts to like her (magic potion, she gets a makeover, etc.).

- The jock (Andy Samberg) starts to agree with Bedelia and like/come onto her mom. Bedelia hurriedly tries to convince him out of it.

So there you go, Nasim. Pick one. Anything is better than rewriting past skits.

What do you think, readers?

Andy Samberg & TLI - Jack Sparrow (with Michael Bolton)

UPDATE: Added the clean version. Originally posted on 5/8/11.
=====================

So I figured the video would be a song about Jack Sparrow, but I thought the dudes would embrace the film and make the jokes about the film (ala Weird Al). However, that's the joke here, and it seems to be making fun of the genre of spoof songs about films.

The Lonely Island and Michael Bolton pay homage to Captain Jack.

Here's the clean version with SNL audience laughter:

It's simply amazing.

WARNING: Harsh language. This nest version is not a clean or bleeped version, and it does not include audience laughter from the show.

Buy at iTunes now. Album everywhere THIS TUESDAY!!!! (May 10th)

I keep wanting to watch this thing! LOL

I love the expressions of the dudes looking at Bolton, and my favorite part is when Bolton pops up in the lame pirate hat and sings, "Now we're back to the good part!"

Hahahahaha.

What do you think? What was your favorite part?

So funny.

Enjoy!

Andy Samberg returns as Mort Mort Feingold (SNL - 4/9/11)

Mort Mort Feingold, accountant for the stars, helps James Franco, the Kardashian sisters and other celebrities with their taxes.

Sketch - Mort Mort Feingold: Accountant For The Stars

Helen Mirren ... Helena Bonham Carter
Fred Armisen ... Muammer Kaddafi
Vanessa Bayer ... Kourtney Kardashian
Paul Brittain ... Johnny Depp
Paul Brittain ... James Franco
Abby Elliott ... Khloé Kardashian
Bill Hader ... Tim Burton
Taran Killam ... Ricky Martin
Nasim Pedrad ... Kim Kardashian
Jay Pharoah ... Will Smith
Andy Samberg ... Mort Mort Feingold

This basically becomes another vehicle to show off their celebrity impressions.

This is Andy's second appearance as the character. His first was on 04.17.2010, last season. Which impression is your favorite?

Enjoy!

Andy Samberg SNL Digital Short: Helen Mirren's Magical Bosom

Hahahaha.

Nasim Pedrad goes to a special place after Helen Mirren allows her to touch her breasts.

Film - SNL Digital Short: Helen Mirren's Magical Bosom

Helen Mirren
Dave Grohl
Bobby Moynihan ... dancing bee
Nasim Pedrad
Andy Samberg ... saint
Kristen Wiig

Wow. I think my favorite part of this was actually Bobby Moynihan who just brought the bee costume back! SNL did the bees their first season in 75, but it was John Belushi who really pushed and owned the bee movement.

I hope we get another music video from the new TLI CD sometime soon.

Enjoy!

Andy Samberg SNL Promo: Helen Mirren and Foo Fighters

Helen Mirren and the Foo Fighters promote their upcoming appearance on 'Saturday Night Live!'

Two jokes, and they're just okay this week. Nothing digital short-like in these promos.

But still, it's Andy in all his Andy-ness. =^)

Enjoy!

Andy Samberg is Prince William (Elton John, SNL)

Sketch - Royal Engagement

Elton John
Fred Armisen ... Queen Elizabeth
Bill Hader ... Prince Philip
Taran Killam ... butler
Andy Samberg ... Prince William

The royal engagement continues. This is Andy's, Fred's, and Bill's second go at poking fun at the royal family. Looks like they dragged Elton John into it.

Sir Elton John pays a visit to the Queen Elizabeth II to see what he should play at the upcoming royal wedding.

Enjoy!

Andy Samberg is Bono in Knights of the Realm (SNL)

When a dragon attacks London, England's most recognizable knights devise a plan to stop it.

Sketch - Knights of the Realm

Elton John
Tom Hanks ... Michael Caine
Fred Armisen ... Ringo Starr
Paul Brittain ... Barnaby Xavier St. Hidgens III
Bill Hader ... Richard Branson
Taran Killam ... Ian McKellen
Seth Meyers ... announcer (voice)
Bobby Moynihan ... shopkeeper
Andy Samberg ... Bono
Kenan Thompson ... Sir Mix-A-Lot
Kristen Wiig ... Diedre

Hahahaha.

This is Tom Hanks' first attempt at Michael Caine. Caine has also had impressions done twice by Phil Hartman and once by Seth Meyers. Ringo Starr was also played by Jon Lovitz (3 times). Bill Hader is the only one on SNL who has played Richard Branson (3 times). Taran holds the first and only SNL impression of Ian McKellan. Kenan is the only SNLer to do Sir Mix-a-lot, and this is his second time (who can forget Sir Mix-a-lot's Photo Shop?).

This is Andy's second attempt at Bono (his first was in the the Spider-man lawsuit parody on the Russell Brand episode). Bono has also been played by Alec Baldwin (once), Adam Sandler (twice), Chris Kattan (twice), and Colin Farrell (once). So a Bono impresssion is another link between Andy Samberg and Adam Sandler.

Thanks to Juliette for the info about Andy's first appearance as Bono!

Enjoy!

Andy Samberg is Nicholas Cage with Jake Gyllenhaal

On 'Get In The Cage,' Nicholas Cage tries to figure out why he wasn't asked to be in Jake's new movie, 'Source Code.'

This is a hilarious segment! I hope they do it again!

Starting at 2:14, Seth loses it, laughing mostly off camera (I think he was holding it in until the camera cut off him).

Wow, Jake's a hardcore professional. Not even a minor crack. Jake appeared in Iran So Far, so I'm sure all they had to was think of this and run the idea by Jake for him to jump at it.

This is Andy's 5th appearance as Nicholas Cage. His first was on 11.07.2009. Jimmy Fallon also did Nick Cage once in 1999.

Andy's two Weekend Update appearances as Nicholas Cage have been the funniest (versus playing Nick Cage in ensemble skits).

Enjoy!

Laser Cats the Musical (#6) with Andy Samberg, Tom Hanks, and Elton John

Droz is performing music that's killing people and it's up to Nitro and Admiral Spaceship to save the day.

This is not Tom Hank's first digital short. He appeared in "My Testicles" during the dudes' first season. I love the Spider-man bits in the background, which make fun of the Spider-man musical.

I think they could have done more with the "musical" aspect, but fitting in Elton John was great! This is their sixth Laser Cats; they do one a year.

Call out to Victoria for guessing this was going to be an epiode of Laser Cats!

And call out to Anony for noticing that Andy's wearing the same clothes in some shots as he did on Jimmy Fallon's show earlier the previous Friday night. So Andy probably shot the Lorne office bits on Friday, before his Jimmy Fallon interview.

What's your favorite part?

Enjoy!

Andy Samberg in The Original Kings Of Catchphrase Comedy (SNL)

Commercial - The Original Kings Of Catchphrase Comedy

Zach Galifianakis ... Pete "Airhorn" Schultz
Fred Armisen ... Mike "Insert Joke Here" Henry
Vanessa Bayer ... Addi "News FLash" Sweeney
Paul Brittain ... Goran "Funky Boy" Bogdan
Abby Elliott ... Fur Coat Rhonda
Taran Killam ... Barry The Plumbing Gentleman
Taran Killam ... announcer (voice)
Seth Meyers ... Boston Powers
Bobby Moynihan ... Slappy Pappy
Jay Pharoah ... Dr. Velociraptor
Andy Samberg ... Chip "So Yeah I'm Single" Fenney
Jason Sudeikis ... White Bernie Mac
Kenan Thompson ... David "Beef Jelly" Winfield

The Original Kings Of Catchphrase Comedy

"If you know their names, you know their catchphrases!" Pretty funny.

Zach's airhorn bit was the best. Boston Powers was also pretty good, even though it was pretty much a visual gag (we almost never see Seth outside Weekend Update). What do you think?

Enjoy!

Andy Samberg in Scared Straight with Zach Galifianakis (SNL)

Sketch - Scared Straight

Zach Galifianakis ... Larry Bernstein
Bill Hader ... kid
Bobby Moynihan ... kid
Andy Samberg ... kid
Jason Sudeikis ... Officer Sikorsky
Kenan Thompson ... Lorenzo McIntosh

Two inmates get graphic when talking about jail to some troubled teenagers.

Wow, these are pretty gross. But Andy does a good job, and I love Zach's character.

Nobody broke out of character in this one. Probably because they've done it so much.

This is the sixth one of these Scared Straight. The first was on 11.15.2008.

Enjoy!

Andy Samberg in March Madness Cold Open (SNL)

Cold Opening - Selection Sunday

Fred Armisen ... Muammer Kaddafi
Bill Hader ... Charlie Sheen
Steve Higgins ... announcer (voice)
Nasim Pedrad ... Tracy Wolfson
Andy Samberg ... Dick Vitale
Jason Sudeikis ... Jim Nantz
Kenan Thompson ... Greg Gumbel
Kristen Wiig ... Melissa Leo

On this special Selection Sunday, the CBS team breaks down this year's crazy bracket.

Nasim is good; she reminds me of Cheri Oteri. This is Andy's first time as Dick Vitale. Jay Mohr did him twice.

A nice ensemble piece. Did you like it?

Enjoy!

Andy Samberg is Liam on SNL's Weekend Update

This is Andy's second appearance as Liam. His first was last year on 02.06.2010.

Liam, a teenager who just woke up, stops by Weekend Update to comment on rising oil prices and some of his recent dreams.

Kind of funny and silly. What do you think?

Enjoy!

Very funny bits they have together! All were great! What was your favorite?

Andy Samberg is Taboo from Black Eyed Peas in Our Time (SNL)

You've seen those other two guys from the Black Eyed Peas, and now they have their own show.

Show - Our Time!

Miley Cyrus ... Fergie
Abby Elliott ... Khloé Kardashian
Jay Pharoah ... Will.i.am
Jay Pharoah ... announcer (voice)
Andy Samberg ... Taboo
Kenan Thompson ... apl.de.ap

Hahahaha. These are new impressions. Kenan's first time as apl.de.ap, but Finesse Mitchell did him once. Andy's first time as Taboo, but Jon Heder played him once on SNL. Jay Pharoah's first time as Will.i.am, but Kenan played him once. And Amy Poehler played Fergie last time (it was on 10/8/05).

Abby has done Khloe 4 times now, but this is the first time without her sisters. I think Abby can definitely hold her own without the Kardashian sisters.

My favorite line from Andy here was that he is from the Matrix.

At one point, Jay said something random and the audience laughed. He should have said something random each time before he left.

One joke, but enough was happening to make it funny. Did you like it?

Enjoy!

Andy Samberg in Beastly SNL commercial

This commercial is basically this week's digital short.

Commercial - Beastly

Miley Cyrus
Paul Brittain ... friend
Nasim Pedrad ... witch
Andy Samberg ... Declan

In this new movie, a young man has everything going for him until a spell cast upon him takes away his good looks and charm.

What did you think?

Enjoy!

Andy Samberg in Gublin & Green (SNL)

Commercial - Gublin & Green

Fred Armisen ... Frank Gublin
Vanessa Bayer ... client
Paul Brittain ... victim
Steve Higgins ... announcer (voice)
Taran Killam ... actor
Bobby Moynihan ... client
Nasim Pedrad ... victim
Jay Pharoah ... victim
Andy Samberg ... actor

The law firm of Gublin and Green will represent anyone injured watching or acting in 'Spider-Man' on Broadway.

What did you think? Again, Andy was only in two skits this week, and this was one of them.

Enjoy!

Andy Samberg in A Spot of Tea (SNL)

Show - A Spot of Tea

Russell Brand ... lady
Paul Brittain ... butler
Bill Hader ... lady
Andy Samberg ... lady

Three elderly British ladies have a hard time taking sips of their hot tea thanks to an earthquake.

Unfortunately, no digital short this week, and Andy was only in two skits. Here's the second one, but it featured Andy a little better. The first one is called Gublin & Green.

Did you like this one?

Enjoy!

Andy Samberg SNL promo with Russell Brand

Andy does his second SNL promo in a row with host Russell Brand (last week he did one with Dana Carvey)!

Russell Brand hosts Saturday Night Live with musical guest Chris Brown on Feb. 12.

My guess is it means more and more hosts want to do stuff with Andy. Afterall, in Dana's monologue, Dana got the most cheers (he had to get them to stop cheering), Andy got the second most with very loud hoots, followed by Kristen Wiig, Jon Lovitz, and Bill Hader. Andy is probably the most popular person on the show. I'm hoping he can leverage that to getting in more films (the Adam Sandler one and the Three Stooges one would make his film career).

Anyway, do you like these Andy jokes with Russell? These are obviously written by Andy.

Enjoy!
