This year we are taking the images of Our Lady and St Joseph (from the Nativity Set above) around the parish and they are staying the night at one of the Parish Family's homes. In this simple act we seek to follow their journey to Bethlehem.
It has to be admitted that not every evening has been covered by volunteers, but those who have had them to stay have found it a very moving experience. One parishioner has already written to say:
May I express our thanks for the opportunity at act as hosts for our Lady and St Joseph on their tour of the Parish. This is a splendid way to observe Advent and brings home to us that they needed places to stay on their journey to Bethlehem. I hope you repeat the journey next year and that you are over whelmed with offers of Hospitality.
This evening Our Lady and St Joseph were welcomed to a lovely Shrine with candles and roses. In each home I have been impressed by the place set aside for the images. They have been given a place of honour and this is beginning to mean a lot for our people.
