Of Swine Flu and vestments....

I am grateful to Dr Simon Cotton for sending me these links which may provoke some serious thought about swine flu and a note of humour as well....

Firstly see the Ugly Vicar blog:

Some may think it ironic that I have had a lighter-than-expected afternoon, thanks to a meeting being cancelled due to some attendees having possible Swine 'flu, given that I was blogging rather cynically last week about the measures being suggested by our bishops to contact the disease. To me, this whole exercise reeks of King Canute and the tide,....

There are some other posts and comments on this site which will add to the debate.

and then for some humour:

Church unveils new swine flu vestments

The Church of England has announced that following its introduction of special swine flu prayers, new clergy vestments are now available in case of a further outbreak of the deadly virus.

The discreet vestments make it possible for church life to go on absolutely as normal. Each clergy suit is hermetically sealed to provide 8 hours of total biological protection from parishioners, visitors, Alpha group leaders, the organist, fellow clergy and other noxious hazards.....
