On Sunday 7th February the BBC will be in St Mary & St Giles around lunchtime to record and interview Ben Westlake on his clarinet. Ben is a local young man who has made it through to the final of the Woodwind Section of this prestigious competition. While it will not be possible for others to be present during the recording by the BBC, Ben has very kindly agreed to perform a short recital for us at 2:30pm in aid of the baby grand piano. There will be no entrance charge rather simply a retiring collection. I am very pleased that St Mary & St Giles is to be involved in this way to help Ben as part of this competition and am grateful to Ben and his family for his kindness in being willing to help our efforts. Please do come along and support him - I will make sure the heating is on!
