Life in Christ

Jesus Christ told Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews that “except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God ” nor can he enter into the kingdom (John 3:3-5). It is obvious that there are great benefits to everyone who is born - again.

Being born again is the beginning of life in Christ. Jesus Christ is the Son of God and part of the triune God. Anyone who lives in Christ enjoys the position of the branch which is well-supplied from the vine. In Christ, the believer has access to spiritual and physical provision, protection and the peace of God.

Every born- again Christian according to the scriptures has his life “hid with Christ in God” (Col. 3:3). It is full-proof protection and provision for every true believer.

The born-again Christian is the recipient of the wonderful blessings pronounced in Psalm 91. The

Psalmist says “He that dwelleth in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.” The blessings are comprehensive and cover the spiritual and moral speres of man's life..

Brethren, the Psalmist says to the dweller in the secret place of God that:

• God becomes your refuge and fortress.

• God will deliver you from physical and spiritual danger.

• God gives His angels charge over you such that you are kept safe from all danger.

You need to note in particular that you have a Father who answers when you call. The Word says “He (you) shall call upon Me (God) and I will answer him. I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him. With long life will I satisfy him and show him my salvation.” (Psalm 91:15-16).

Beloved, in the turbulent world in which we live, I believe the only safe haven is our place in Christ. The benefits of being a child of God are priceless and changeless. Because our God is not subject to the changes and instability of human situations we can trust God and be at rest.

“Jesus Christ, the same yesterday, today and forever” Hebrews 13:8.

It makes sense to be tied to He that cannot disappoint or fail us. That keeps you and I in the safe and secure hands of the Almighty God.
