Before he was opening Scientology Schools for Rich kids near Malibu, or his catch phrase "Ahhhh hell naaaaah" featured in all of his movies, The Fresh Prince along side his partner DJ Jazzy Jeff (one of the best that ever did it) were main players in Hip-Hop. The Philli Hip-Hop scene was the 1st scene that could really stand tall next to New York, and the Philli stars gave many a NY Rapper a run for their advance money!

Although towards the end of the 90's, as the music form became more segregated and groups like the Ultramagnetic MC's started calling The Fresh Prince, Kid & Play and others "Happy Rap", Will Smith has always been an extremely positive role model and spokesperson for the Hip-Hop generation.
